Buckles-Smith Electric Gives Back at Gilroy Garlic Festival

Gilroy, CA – July 28th, 2013 – This past weekend Buckles-Smith Electric employees, family and friends donated their time to raise funds for Young Life through working at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. The company donated a total of 130 hours of service by cooking up and serving nine thousand pounds of French fries and three thousand pounds of calamari at two different booths on opposite sides of the festival. Despite the sweltering heat, the employees enjoyed their six-hour shifts full of garlic and fun.

Buckles-Smith attends and serves others at the Garlic Festival every year in order to raise funds for the Young Life Chapter in the South Valley, which includes Gilroy and Morgan Hill. Company employee Ron Zimmerman and his wife Donna organize the Buckles-Smith volunteers for this annual event, with all proceeds going towards camp fees for Young Life Members.

Young Life was founded in 1941 with the goal of reaching high school students all over the country so that they may know and experience the love and power of God. The South Valley Young Life Chapter was implemented in 2009 thanks to Donna Zimmerman, who desired to spread this love to her own children and their peers.

Founded in San Jose in 1939, Buckles-Smith is the leading industrial electrical wholesaler in Northern California.  Buckles-Smith provides its customers with broad local inventory, next day delivery/same day pick-up, technical support, training seminars, and inventory management.
