Buckles Gives Back

Over the summer Buckles-Smith employees took part in various events in order to give back to our local San Francisco Bay Area community.  On July 26th the summer interns, along with other Buckles-Smith employees, gathered together and sorted food at the local Second Harvest Food Bank.  The event, coordinated by one of the summer interns, was a great way for the employees to work together to be able to support the local community.

The annual Gilroy Garlic Festival was another opportunity where Buckles-Smith employees were able to “Give Back” to the community.  Employees worked various shifts during the weekend at a Garlic Fries, Calamari, and Shrimp booth.  A number of employees donated their time and effort in support of the organization Young Life over the weekend.

Additionally, Buckles-Smith reached out to help with Hurricane Harvey disaster relief.  By implementing a program that matches employee donations, Buckles-Smith was able to donate a total of $5,595.00 to the Red Cross.  Here at Buckles-Smith we will also be doing a similar program for Hurricane Irma that recently struck the state of Florida and tore its way through the Caribbean.

This past Sunday Buckles-Smith also sponsored a bocce ball tournament that was in support of the Services for Brain Injury which helps people who have suffered Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) for the 4th year in a row.  Buckles-Smith sponsored a court and a team at the event which took place in Los Gatos at the Campo di Bocce.

Being involved in the communities where our employees work and live is one of the foundational pillars of Buckles-Smith’s company culture. If an organization or a cause matters to our employees, it matters to Buckles-Smith Electric.
