    History of Allied Electric

Sal Rome and Johnny Nesper started Allied Electric in 1953 in a small building on Kings Canyon Ave. The business started as a small repair and rewind motor shop. During their 20 years at the Kings Canyon location, Allied Electric began supplying electrical product lines and entered the Electrical Distribution industry.

In 1972, Allied Electric moved into a larger facility on Jensen Avenue, where it remains today. The product line business, as well as the repair business, had grown significantly by this point. Between 1974 and 1978, Allied Electric hired five Rome family members, and in 1980, Sal Rome bought out his partner, Johnny Nesper.

Between 1986 and 2002, six additional Rome family members joined the Allied Electric team, including Mark Saldivar, Craig Barnes, and Sal Mandal, who are still with the company. In 2008, Robin Wiggins joined Allied Electric as the Sales Manager and remains an Allied Electric employee today.

Allied Electric is the definition of a family business, and the fact that the needs of the company and its customers come first attributes to its success. Although the staff works together daily, they remain a close and loving family who strive to develop new and exciting sales growth ideas.

In 2018 shortly before Buckles-Smith acquired Allied Electric, Gail Mandal, the CEO at the time, wrote:

"I contribute company success to our mission to succeed in business with honesty and integrity and our family values of treating all people, whether they are employees, customers, or vendors, fairly and respectfully. I feel we have had a positive impact on the community by employing 67 employees, contributing to hospitals, schools, churches, local politicians, Fresno city sports, and various children's funds. In return, our business continues to grow in the community, and we have excellent relationships with customers and the general public."

Since the 2018 acquisition by Buckles-Smith, the Allied Electric family joined forces and continues to excel in the Food Processing, Packaging, and Electrical Contractor industries. Allied Electric retains its business name in support of its strong community relationships and significant customer loyalty.
