Engineering consultancies (EPCs) are the technical advisors in the water sector, influencing designs, bid specifications, and procurement decisions. Like the rest of the industry, digital water is becoming a priority, they are being forced to adapt to the growing role of digital water & wastewater technologies. In response to this shifting landscape, EPCs are taking on new roles as digital water solutions providers, offering implementation & integration services, partnering with manufacturers or system integrators, and selling in-house software directly to utilities. The digital landscape is evolving and EPC roles are changing.

EPCs are leveraging their industry expertise, and close customer and vendor relationships to address multiple areas of the digital water value chain, from design, procurement, and implementation to change management, cybersecurity, and software development.
