Pricing Analyst

The Pricing Analyst manages pricing matrix and delivers pricing analytics to achieve sales and profitability growth throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

Customer Pricing

  • Gross profit analysis and price optimization
  • Administer, analyze, and adjust customer specific pricing
  • Administer, analyze, and adjust pricing matrices
  • Customer and product stratification
  • Set up customer specific pricing
  • Maintain pricing overrides for stock items below 5% on average
  • Provide competitive price bids for stock and flow items
  • Set up Vantage and Supply Force sell pricing
  • Set up new or modified customer pricing in account set-up
  • Manage third party firms for price matrix optimization
  • Document process for pricing management
  • Meet with account managers and inside sales as needed for training or customer pricing management
  • Research and implement market level pricing
  • Provide business system pricing module support and development

Product Data

  • Support pricing team as a backup for product cost data management
  • Back-up Pricing Supervisor on epaCUBE functions
  • Activate and build parts in current business system

Reporting & Analytics

  • Weekly price override and profitability reports
  • Weekly Hot Sheet creation and communication
  • Monthly Negative Margin Report
  • Monthly assigned vendor pre-pop recommendations
  • Customer price books and analysis on request
  • Provide SPA (Special Pricing Agreement) analysis and suggested multipliers to sales
  • Create and maintain Proposal Works files for specific customers
  • Develop and maintain Phocas pricing database
  • Build Phocas Dashboard to track projects
  • Develop performance metrics and report on KPIs quarterly
  • Miscellaneous analytics and reporting requests from managers or sales


  • Ad Hoc activities as requested

Knowledge and Skill requirements

  • Microsoft Office Suite – Word, PowerPoint, Excel (Advanced), Access
  • In-depth knowledge of pricing process and tables
  • SQL (Intermediate)
  • epaCUBE
  • Strong understanding of manufacturer product data, specifically pricing data
  • Basic understanding and application of statistics
  • Ability to analyze, manage and interpret large amounts of data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and translate data into clear communications
  • Attention to detail


Four-year college degree or High School diploma plus five years equivalent experience.

Certificates, licenses, registrations

Valid class “C” CA driver’s license
